As I mentioned in my last post, I'm always finding things to photograph that usually aren't the main attraction. Yesterday at Legoland my camera snapped a few flowers, trees and this lovely mushroom. I'm always amazed at how fast these guys pop up and how perfect their shape is. This looks like a perfect shady spot for a lego gnome.

you belong in the zoo - a day at the San Diego Zoo
This being the last week day of the Winter Break, I decided it would be good to get out of the house and do a little exploring at the zoo. But as you can see, while the kids are looking at animals I am quite often pointing my camera up or crouched down low to look at all the plant life. I could easily spend a day by myself in the rainforest-inspired aviaries where I would imagine that I'm actually out in the rainforest studying botanicals and wildlife. Maybe someday I'll have to do that.
Oh, my camera saw a few animals as well...
